Description

President Harry S. Truman shaking hands with Vice President Alben Barkley at Washington, D.C.'s Griffith Stadium, on the occasion of the opening game of the 1950 baseball season, as other dignitaries look on. Standing in the front row of the presidential box are, from left to right: Admiral Robert Dennison, Margaret Truman, First Lady Bess W. Truman, President Truman, Vice-President Barkley, and Washington Senators owner Clark Griffith (in light-colored hat, with his arm on Barkley). All others are unidentified.
