Truman looks on, on the occasion of Marshall's taking the oath of office as Secretary of State in the Oval Office. On the left is Senator Tom Connally of Texas; in the background, to the right of Byrnes, is Attorney General Tom Clark and Secretary of War Robert Patterson. Others are unidentified.
