Secretary of the U.S. Navy Francis P. Matthews is shown on the right and Rear Admiral Leo Hewlett Thebaud, Commandant of the First Naval District, is at salute beside him. They are responding to military honors rendered by the Boston Naval Base Band. Secretary Matthews is on a visit to the Boston Naval Shipyard. Part of a Marine Corp. detachment are also in view.
