President Harry S. Truman dines with a group of dignitaries and members of his staff in Independence, Missouri. Seated left to right are an unidentified man, Matthew Connelly, Captain James Vardaman, Mayor of Independence Roger Sermon, President Harry S. Truman, Press Secretary Charles Ross, an unidentified man (mostly obscured), and General Harry Vaughan. This dinner took place at the home of Mayor Sermon.
