Secretary of the Army Frank Pace (center, in civilian suit) greets the driver of his car at Grafenwohr, Germany Airstrip prior to leaving for the United States Army training test of the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry. He is followed by Major General Thomas S. Timberman, Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division. All other soldiers are unidentified.
