Description
The throngs at Memorial Hall, Independence, Missouri. They are gathered for the dedication of the Liberty Bell. The Bell, a replica of Philadelphia\'s Liberty Bell, was presented to Independence by the people of Annecy, France as a friendship token. President Harry S. Truman spoke at the event and is on the stand (front row, to the right of the flag on the left). Also identifiable is General Harry Vaughan, just to the left of the flag on the right.
