In a labor camp in Mathis Texas, open pit privies lie 10-20 ft from sleeping quarters. One privy has no door, another is falling down, and yet another is running over with human feces. This photo was sent to President Harry S. Truman by Hector Garcia of the League of United Latin American Citizens.
