Description

John Brannon stands at a lectern at the War Ministry Building in Tokyo, Japan in the courtroom during the International Military Tribunal of the Far East. Brannon, defense attorney for Osami Nagano, who was on trial with 26 other alleged war criminals, announces the death of the one time Japanese Admiral and Chief of Staff of the Japanese Navy at the time of Pearl Harbor. Admiral Nagano died from an attack of bronchial pneumonia at the 361st U.S. Army Station Hospital, January 5th, after being moved from Sugamo Prison the previous day.
