John Brannon, defense counsel, stands at the lectern of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East in the War Ministry Building in Tokyo, Japan. He is reading his summation on behalf of Admiral Shigetaro Shimada. Shimada was one of twenty-five alleged major Japanese war criminals on trial.
