Description
President Gerald Ford (third from left on right side of the table) talks with newspaper executives at the White House. E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. is second from left on the left hand side of the table. Other men and the waiter are unidentified. Note on back of photograph reads: "Everybody in the family dining room of the White House heard President Ford mention CIA assassinations. Was it off the record or on? I said "off" (mine is the whitest head there). The publisher of The New York Times, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger (obscured by the president), agreed. Off the record it was." Part of a group of photographs belonging to E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. which he used in his book, "Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen: A Memoir."
