Note on the back of the photograph reads: "This photograph of President Truman, my wife and myself was taken at the Waldorf-Astoria by the New York Daily News. It was displayed on the bulletin board at the Daily News with the caption, 'You may be a good newspaperman, but you are a lousy waiter.' Actually, I was just asking, 'Do you want another drink before dinner?' " Part of a group of photographs belonging to E. Clifton Daniel which he used in his book, "Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen: A Memoir."
