Description
Former President Harry S. Truman (center) is pictured with two of his grandsons, Clifton Truman Daniel (left) 3, and William Wallace Daniel, 11 months (right). Photograph has a damaged spot on the bottom right of Clifton Daniel's face. Note on the back of the photograph reads in part: "Harry S. Truman in the rare role of babysitter, showing off his grandsons . . .while their parents were away on a trip to Europe. . . Grandpa caught hell from Margaret, who discouraged photographs of the children. But it was a great picture." Part of a group of photographs belonging to E. Clifton Daniel, Jr., which he used in his book, "Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen: A Memoir."
