This photograph was taken by E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. while working for the New York Times. This was part of a group of photographs belonging to E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. which he used in his book, "Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen: A Memoir." Original caption: The picture is of King Abdullah of Jordan (left), grandfather of King Hussein, talking with Palestinian lawyer Nassib Boulos on the terrace of the King's winter palace. King Abdullah is wearing a white Turkish robe and blue serge trousers. His head-dress is that of the royal family of the Hejz, an area in Arabia over which his father was once ruler.
