Description
This is a photograph of the New York Times newsroom during the New York power outage. The clock on the far wall reads 5:05. E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. can be seen standing in the doorway of an office in the back of the photograph. The rest of the reporters are unidentified. Note on the back of the photograph reads: "The night the power failed 1961 New York Times Newsroom, looking east. 'Who turned out the lights?'"
