WAC Technician (T/5) Dorothy E. Hoefler of Buffalo, New York, examines a shell torn tree thought to be dead and is surprised to find it blooming. Hoefler was stationed in the Sparanise area, Italy with the WAC 6669th Headquarters Platoon supporting the Fifth Army.
