President Harry S. Truman (left, near bottom of stairs) leaves the Little White House in Potsdam, Germany, with his Naval Aide, Captain James Vardaman (background, left) and General Harry Vaughan (right). Truman was in Potsdam to meet with the Allies regarding the end of World War II.
