Description
This is a snapshot of the tombstone of Katharine Lyra Stanton Griffis, mother of Stanton Griffis. The inscription reads, "Katharine Lyra Stanton, Beloved wife of William Elliot Griffis, [star] Born at Newburyport, Mass. January 18, 1855. [cross] Died at Ithaca, N.Y. [illegible] 9, 1898. [illegible your Father [illegible] pleasure to give you the kingdom." This photo also shows a reflection of an unidentified woman wearing a sleeveless dress who is taking the picture.
