Bess Truman (at railing, second from right) and Margaret Truman (at railing, fourth from right) stand, with unidentified others, on a causeway at the top of Fort Peck Dam, Montana, during a stopover on President Harry S. Truman's trip to the Pacific Northwest. The dam was developed for flood control and irrigation of the Upper Mississippi-Missouri River basin.
