President Harry S. Truman (center) walks with Dr. Clarence R. Decker (on Truman's left), President of the University of Kansas City, and others to the stage in the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium where the President will speak and be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Kansas City. Directly behind Dr. Decker is Naval aide Captain James K. Vardaman, Jr. The other people are unidentified.
