Description

Aerial photograph of the Aeronca L16B (SN 48-430) airplane in flight taken near Middleton, Ohio, where it was manufactured. This view shows Franklin, Ohio, and the Great Miami River in the background. This high-wing, two-place liaison plane was manufactured by the Aeronca Aircraft Corporation of Middletown, Ohio. Over 600 are in use by the Army Field Forces and National Guard. This is an example of one of the planes viewed by President Truman during his visit to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in October 4, 1949, to review airborne maneuvers as well as to review 20,000 troops and inspect new artillery weapons.
