MIGHTY MO: THE MANY LIVES OF THE USS MISSOURI ABC News Saturday Night May 23, 1998. As a salute to the retiring ship, Hugh Downs looks at the history of the USS Missouri, from its role in the Japanese surrender in WWII to the Persian Gulf War. Also shown is Margaret Truman christening the ship in 1944, the signing of the surrender and two stories of people whose lives were affected by the ship. This is a rough screen of the show, provided by ABC News. VHS tape.
