JACK POSADA, TRI COUNTY HEADLINES” ca. August, 1995. Interview with Al Purdy, a WWII Veteran who visited Hiroshima after the dropping of the bomb. The interview concerns his experiences in Hiroshima, November, 1945. He left October 25th to set up a hospital near Hiroshima. Mainly photo stills taken in Hiroshima of debris and damage, small discussion of bomb vs. invasion decision. Mr. Purdy also donated photos. VHS Videotape. Amateur video of the USS Missouri as well as taped segments off of public access. Video address to Congressperson in attempt to keep the USS Missouri from being sent to Hawaii. In four Parts. Part 1: Shots of USS MO. June 15, 1995, inside and out, why Missouri should remain where it is, wishes to move it to St. Louis, Recitation of USS Oregon battle history, details about the MO itself, 43 minutes; Part 2: Bremerton City Council Meeting August 30, 1995 reading of the resolution to keep the MO in Bremerton, 10 minutes; Part 3: USS Missouri VJ day Ceremony Sept 2, 1995, 57 minutes; Part 4: USS Missouri on Parade at Sidney for Celebration of their 75th naval Anniversary. About 30 min. VHS Videotape: FRIENDS OF THE TRUMAN HOUSE IN BERLIN - POTSDAM" 1995 History of the "Little White House" in Potsdam. Presentation to persuade donations to finance its purchase to be used as a museum of American/European History. Includes photo stills from Potsdam conference and reel footage of Potsdam.
