Description
VHS. Film footage of President Harry S. Truman’s talk in Dexter, Iowa on September 18, 1948, and commentary by Cary J. Hahn, “The Iowa Traveler” of KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mr. Hahn presented the (originally 8mm) home movie which came from Herb Plambeck, who had invited President Truman to the plowing match in Dexter and conducted an interview with him. Also included is black and white footage of former President Truman’s speech at the dedication of the Herbert Hoover Library on August 10, 1962. Mr. Hahn also shows an old interview he did with Herb Plambeck (who died in 2001). This videotape was prepared around 2002. The footage of Dexter, Iowa is color and of good quality.
