Description
September 11, 2004 A Japanese documentary pertaining to the August 16, 1945 request from Premier Stalin to President Truman that the Russians be permitted to occupy the northern half of Mikado Island, Japan. This film features material from the Truman Library and also scenes from the Library, it’s exhibits, and research room. Randy Sowell is shown explaining the document and other materials to the Japanese researchers. There is an opening scene dedicating a memorial dated August 19, 1945. There is also a map shown indicating the Russian occupation of the Eastern European countries. Japanese language production. VHS
