Description

The third in a series of four ¾” videotapes produced by the John F. Kennedy Library of a conference held there on 4/12/84: THE TRUMAN PRESIDENCY. Tape 3 of the series opens with panel answering questions pertaining to their presentations. Panel present: Ken Hechler, Elmer Staats, David Stowe, Roger Tubby, and Dr. Ben Zobrist. This segment 19:26 minutes. Second portion of tape introduces a new panel whose topic is “The Evaluation of the Truman Presidency.” Moderator is C. Petillo. Cynthia Harrison speaks on Women’s Issues; David McCullough speaks on the history of the man – Harry S. Truman; H. Stikoff discusses the civil rights actions taken during the presidency from a revisionist viewpoint. The tape ends during Mr. Stikoff’s closing remarks.
