The second in a series of four ¾” videotapes produced by the John F. Kennedy Library of a conference held there on 4/12/84: THE TRUMAN PRESIDENCY. Tape 2 of the series opens with Mr. Clayton Fritchey continuing to speak. Audio spotty, video dim. Ken Hechler, Special Assistant to President Truman 1947-1952. Discusses his experiences with President Truman. Elmer Staats, Director of the Budget 1950-1953. Discusses President Truman’s interest in the budget and improving government. Audio is improved, video remains dim. David Stowe, discusses President Truman’s participation in John F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign. Roger Tubby, Press Secretary to President Truman. Discusses his experiences with President Truman and the firing of General Douglas MacArthur. Tape ends with this speaker’s presentation.
