PRESIDENT TRUMAN’S ANNOUNCEMENT OF DROPPING THE ATOM BOMB ON HIROSHIMA, JAPAN. National Archives duplication # 111ADC9865 8/6/1945 Donated by: Bill Lambers, a copy of a film he ordered from the National Archives. President Truman sitting at a desk, reads the statement announcing the atomic bomb drop on Hiroshima. This may be a rehearsal, because it shows laughter. President Truman is aboard the U. S. S.
