00:00   Harry S. Truman Library receives scale model of U. S. S. Missouri. Harry S. Truman stands in a conference room with other men. One man is in uniform with a nametag that says, “Smith C.” He is T. Sgt. Charles E. Smith, who brought a seven foot model of the ship U. S. S. Missouri to the Harry S. Truman Library from Japan, where a civilian employee designed the model. Other men attending the event include Searcy Ridge, President of the Kansas City Museum and Don L. Mages, Japanese Chairman of People to People. They are looking at the scale model of the U.S.S. Missouri. Smith points out the features of the model, including guns that swivel. April 17, 1964.
00:39   Truman Honored by American Vets. This segment begins with a focus on the logo of AMVETS: American Veterans of World War II. Harry S. Truman sits eating at a table in a banquet hall with Bess Truman and others. Scenes of the AMVETS members, the buffet table, the Truman’s and their dinner companions continue.
01:15   Truman and LBJ Advisors in Independence. Four men arrive by car and are escorted inside the Harry S. Truman Library. Focus on Harry S. Truman, and then the four men signing in at a reception desk. The camera focuses on the face of each of the men as they sit at a conference table with Truman.
02:20   Truman to JFK funeral. Harry S. Truman stands outside at an airport. He makes a brief statement and boards an Air Force plane. The plane taxis away. This footage is followed by blank space.
03:21   Truman at First Friday Club. Men are seated at long dinner tables. Harry S. Truman stands at a podium. A standing ovation precedes Truman’s remarks. Truman’s speech is interspersed with shots of the audience’s reactions.
03:55   Truman at Navy League. A man makes remarks at a podium in front of a Navy League banner and an American flag. Another man in a naval uniform also makes remarks. Harry S. Truman receives a framed certificate. He shakes hands and says his thanks.
04:29   Truman Dedicates Eddie Jacobson Plaque. Harry S. Truman sits in an audience with others at the Harry S. Truman Library. Then Truman stands next to a plaque on an easel commemorating Eddie Jacobson. The plaque has an engraving of Jacobson and reads, “Eddie Jacobson Memorial, 1891-1955.” The plaque also has a message about Jacobson which cannot be read. Mr. Truman makes remarks. August 26, 1965.
04:54   Truman at Commerce Tower. The segment begins with a shot of the tall building from the ground with mounted flags waving. The camera pans to a plaque that reads, “Commerce Trust Company, Capital & Surplus $40,000,000.00” on the building’s side. Harry S. Truman walks down the sidewalk towards the entrance. Inside, Truman and others write their signatures on a metal beam. An easel holds a poster that reads, “Get On The Beam” next to what they are signing. Focus on Truman’s signature. Others wait for the opportunity to sign. Men watch a television monitor. A man stands with a camera pointed out a window, possibly feeding to the monitor. Out the window is another building under construction. Construction workers are shown sitting along the skeleton of the building in progress.
