0:00   Man with clipboard says "B2340."
    Series of short clips of Harry S. Truman talking about the war with Japan. Mr. Truman is standing before a screen that shows pictures relating to Japan. He speaks of planning the attack on Japan, facing massive loss of men, and contingencies of having Russian troops join in the fight in Manchuria. There are interruptions of Mr. Truman by the man with the clipboard.
1:04   Mr. Truman, seated at a desk, is talking about telling Stalin about the atomic bomb test. Stalin didn't know what he was talking about.
1:44   Mr. Truman talks about the Japanese Emperor. The Emperor was a symbol of the government and was almost worshipped. Mr. Truman did not join those Americans who wanted the Emperor destroyed. Mr. Truman was trying to save lives.
3:05   Man with clipboard says "2360."
    Mr. Truman is talking about the Potsdam ultimatum, demanding Japan surrender. We dropped the bomb on Hiroshima and we didn't hear anything so we dropped the bomb on Nagasaki. These towns were selected because they were devoted exclusively to war work.
4:12   It was the first atomic explosion that ended the Japanese war.
4:25   Clipboard. Mr. Truman continues about our position in regard to the Emperor of Japan; that it would be made clear to the Japanese people that the Emperor would be under control of the Supreme Command of Allied Forces.
5:03   Mr. Truman speaks of Russians working through General MacArthur. They wanted a set up in Japan like in Germany, with a partition of the country.
