Shot List
Harry S. Truman is at a desk speaking about the Berlin Airlift. There was a cabinet meeting to discuss how to support Berlin during the blockade. The only option was airplanes. He assembled planes and began the airlift. In 11 months, they could land a plane every 63 seconds. The Russians came around. |
There are off camera directions about Gen. Clay and Gen. Vandenberg, that he should tell how Gen. Clay said they couldn’t get armed convoys through, and Gen. Vandenberg didn’t want planes taken from other locations. |
This footage was probably filmed in preparation for MP80-2, "City Under Siege."
