10   General Ralph Truman tells Merle Miller that he felt very keenly about Harry S. Truman becoming President. He felt the tremendous responsibility falling on his shoulders. "I shed tears."
44   Ralph Truman confirms that he and Harry Truman were first cousins. He states that Harry S. Truman was an exceptionally good friend and that he had the "utmost respect for him and his family." They "are good Christian people."
28   Ralph Truman relates how President Truman encouraged him in planning the June, 1947 reunion of the 35th Infantry Division held in Kansas City. It was the first reunion after World War II. Both Harry S. Truman and Ralph Truman were past presidents of the association. General Eisenhower was there. Reunions were held annually after 1947.
Unidentified voice says "sound 106, second stick, sound 106."
11   General Truman discusses how President Truman and he planned the exhibit in the Harry S. Truman Library of the 35th Infantry Division. The library staff selected the lower level for the exhibit which contains hundreds of items. He mentions a French field Piece (French 75) being recently acquired. He mentions Mr. Brooks and Mr. Perry.
53   General Truman claims that in 1948, a meeting time for a 35th Division Reunion in Omaha, Nebraska was changed three times, resulting in very poor attendance. This was deliberately planned to embarrass Harry S. Truman by "certain individuals in Omaha." A Life Magazine picture showed a half-full auditorium with the caption "Truman Stumbles."
21   General Truman says he was confident that Harry S. Truman would be reelected.
