Harry S. Truman greets Italian dignitaries visiting the Truman Library, saying Italians and many other nationalities have made this country great. A spokesman for the Italians expresses his country’s admiration for President Truman and his policies. Sound only.

0:00   Unidentified voice says: "wildtrack 1062, Italian dignitaries visiting President Truman, roll 39."
1:50   Harry S. Truman greets visiting Italian dignitaries at the Truman Library. He expresses appreciation for the Italians and many other nationalities who have "made this country great."
2:37   Photographer has visitors pose with Mr. Truman: "This will prove you were in the heart of America."
3:42   Mr. Truman introduces visitors to Dr. Brooks, the Director of the Library. "He'll show you around. I don't know whether he speaks Italian or not." He explains the purpose of the library, to educate the young about their government and their country.
5:00   Mr. Truman points out the Benton mural and its symbolism.
    Various background conversations of production crew can be heard.
8:37   As the Italians leave, a spokesman expresses his country's admiration for President Truman and his policies. Mr. Truman replies he was glad to do what he could and called Italy "one of the great countries of the world."
