Description

General Ralph Truman, cousin of Harry S. Truman, talks about being recalled to service in 1917. He discusses his assignment in France as a Regimental Intelligence Officer. He discusses the fact that Harry S. Truman was assigned to an advance detail of Field Artillery in France in 1918, although he seldom saw Captain Truman until the war was over. Sound only.

1:51   General Ralph Truman, cousin of Harry S. Truman, discusses being recalled to service in March, 1917. He occasionally saw Harry S. Truman at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
2:09   General Truman states that Captain Truman was sent to France in 1918 with an advance detail of the Field Artillery. Harry S. Truman was in France when General Truman's regiment arrived.
5:00   General Truman discusses his role as Regimental Intelligence officer. When the field artillery was firing on German objectives, he was ordered to inform the 129th Artillery of our position so they could correct their fire. He states that he seldom saw Captain Truman until the war was over.
