0:00   Harry S. Truman talks about the Truman Committee and its objective to investigate the national defense. He also mentions the War Production Board. It got to the point where President Roosevelt and Gen. Marshall had great confidence in the Truman Committee (President Roosevelt had not given it any support at first). President Roosevelt later would call Senator Truman to the White House to discuss investigations. There are short clips of silent footage after Mr. Truman speaks. This is because there were two camera shots of Mr. Truman, and the lab selected one shot to go with the voice and attached the other footage.
