Description

An American map titled "The Route of the Ninth Division Thru the NATOUSA and ETOUSA: Nov. 8, 1942-June 1945." The map of the North African theater shows the route taken by the American 9th Division and includes division command post locations, dates stationed at these locations, and the landing points of the 39th, 47th, and 60th regimental combat teams. The map titled "The Big Picture" shows the route of the 9th Division throughout Europe and Africa and numbers the areas covered on the other maps. The map of the Western front shows the route of the 9th Division, the location of division command posts, dates stationed at these locations, and the locations of a "German break thru attempt." The map of the Sicilian front shows the route of the 9th Division, the locations of division command posts, dates stationed at these locations, and the landing location of the 39th regimental combat team. The map of England shows the location of various Allied headquarters, including that of the 9th Division. Handwriting on the back identifies this map as being part of the Official File. The handwriting reads in part: "Removed from the O.F. 273."
