The map shows national forest boundaries, county lines, roads, road conditions, trails, supervisor headquarters, district ranger stations, guard stations, permanent lookout stations, triangulation stations, recreational areas, wildlife refuges, national parks, railroads, rivers, mountains, lakes, national forest land acquired or being acquired as of December 1945, and other details. A sticker on the back reads: "Ouachita National Forest." Handwriting on the back reads: "Official File 273, N.D."
