Description

An American map titled "Newsmap for the Armed Forces: Monday, February 19, 1945." The map of the Western front shows rivers, relief, international boundaries, and the battle line as of February 13, 1945. The map of the Pacific theater shows railroads, rivers, international boundaries, the Burma Road, the Ledo (Stilwell) Road, and distances from Manila to Binhdinh, French Indochina, the Hainan Province, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Okinawa Jima. Other areas highlighted in orange, such as Saigon, Bangkok, Rangoon, Iwo Jima, and Tokyo, signify American B-29 Superfortress attacks. The map of the Eastern front shows railroads, roads, rivers, international boundaries, and the battle line as of February 13, 1945. Printed text reveals news on multiple fronts. Printed text on the back, accompanied by a drawing and photographs, describes the duties of the Military Police. The text reads in part: "It takes plenty of 'guts,' common-sense, and technical knowledge, plus skill with all kinds of weapons, to be an M.P."
