Description

An American map titled "Newsmap for the Armed Forces: Monday, March 13, 1944." The map and insets of the Burma front show railroads, main roads, secondary roads, international boundaries, rivers, relief, and other details. The inset of northern Burma shows Allied points of action near Walawbum, Maingkwan, and Lashu Ga. The inset of southern Burma shows Allied points of activity near Maungdaw and Kyauktaw. The map of New Britain, New Guinea, New Ireland, and adjacent islands shows rivers, relief, and areas of importance such as Cape Gloucester, Arawe, Gasmata, Talasea, and Rabaul, New Britain. The inset highlights airfields at Lorengau, Manus and Momote, Los Negros Island. Printed text and photographs on the front and back reveal news on multiple fronts.
