Description

A map titled "The Western Theatre of the European War." The map shows railroads, roads, rivers, canals, fortresses, altitudes, woods, forests, international boundaries, and other details. Red and blue lines represent the movement of the front. The solid red line shows the extreme limit of the German invasion in 1914. The dashed blue line shows the line of German retreat following the Allied victory at the first Battle of the Marne. The solid blue line shows the German retreat to the Hindenburg Line following campaigns in Flanders, Artois, Picardy, etc. The dashed red lines show the extent of the German Spring Offensive from March to July 1918. Additional dashed blue lines show actual front as of October 1918, the Armistice Line of November 11, 1918, and the lines of Allied occupation. A sheet of paper providing publisher description and prices of other available maps is glued to the back.
