Description

An American map titled "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics." The map shows railways, canals, roads, winter trails, oil pipe lines, ruins, passes, polar stations, elevations, glaciers, tundra, deserts, dry salt lakes, boundaries as of January 1, 1938, and boundaries according to Russian treaties and claims as of October 1, 1944. This map is one of a set of maps that have been removed from an album titled "United States of America: United States Army Air Forces." Another note within the album read: "Prepared by Cartographic Branch, AC/AS-2 Intelligence."
