Description

French map titled "Montblainville." The map, numbered 210 in a series, shows a portion of the Argonne Forest and the Aire River. Overprinting shows the location of lodging huts for troops and battery positions. Several annotations on the front show the positions of the 137th, 138th, 139th, and 140th Inf. (35th Division) from September 28 to October 1, 1918. The positions of the 28th and 91st Divisions are also noted. A notation on the back reads: "Montblainville, C. O. 140 Inf. Original map used in Argonne by R.E. Truman R.I.O 140 Inf." Donated by Ralph E. Truman.
