Description

A French map titled "La Haute Chevauchee." The map, numbered 209 in a series, shows the area surrounding the Argonne forest and is overprinted to show trench systems, battery activity, shelters, and other details. The map is also annotated to show intelligence, as of September 7, 1918, regarding German first positions for the possible use of Allied artillery. A legend describing these annotations accompany this map. Handwriting on the back reads: "C.O. 140th Inf., La Haute Chevauchee, 1/10,000."
