Description

A French map titled "Vauquois (Verdun 5)." The map, numbered 215 in a series, shows trench systems and battery activity. The map is annotated to show intelligence, as of June 5, 1918, regarding German first positions for the possible use of Allied artillery. Handwriting on the back reads: "Map of Vaquois Hill in Argonne. Shows all arty, M.G., and ammunition emplacements of Bache."
