Description

The map is titled: "War Map of the Battle Ground of Liberty of the Western Battle Fields." The map shows the farthest advance of the German army as of September 1914, as well as, railways and stations, forts, wagon roads, and fortified places. Red pencil annotations are prevalent throughout. "C.B. Forester" is written in ink on the back. An index on the back identifies rivers, seas, towns, cities, forts, lakes, mountains, and forests in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Donated by Ralph C. Blades.
