The papers of Willa Mae Roberts include correspondence, printed materials, press releases, and other items relating to Roberts’s career as a Democratic National Committeewoman and Democratic Party Official. The collection contains some personal correspondence as well as documentation of Roberts’s political activity in Missouri and nation wide.
Roberts’s papers are organized into one series, the Correspondence File, which includes correspondence between Roberts and other Democratic leaders, including Governors, Senators and Congressmen. Many copies of Democratic Digest as well as flyers, pamphlets and programs on candidates and their campaigns, are filed under “Publications.” Also contained in the Correspondence File are letters from Harry S. Truman.
Other collections at the Truman Library relating to women in the Democratic Party include the India Edwards Papers and the Lina D. Adams Papers.
