The Papers of Kenneth R. Iverson contain documents that reflect his various positions with the U.S. government, notably in the field of foreign aid: newspaper clippings, other printed materials, a diary, handwritten notes, correspondence, reports, and other items.
The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence. Included are letters from Iverson to other government officials relating to his official duties, as well as letters of a more personal nature. The collection also contains a few newspaper clippings concerning the Mission to Greece and a larger number of clippings from Latin America (in Spanish).
Iverson's diary is limited to the periods from 1946-47 and 1950-51. His handwritten notes mostly relate to Latin America.
Also in the Iverson Papers are documents concerning the Institute of Inter-American Affairs. Many of these documents outline the principles of the program in the form of reports and printed materials. There are also many printed materials (mostly government brochures) pertaining to the Point 4 program.
There are also memorandums, reports, and other documents from Iverson's work with American aid programs in Greece. These materials focus on the political, cultural, and economic aspects of the country.
More information on U.S. aid to Greece can be found at the Truman Library in the papers of Dwight P. Griswold, Paul A. Porter, and Paul R. Porter. More information about the Point 4 program can be found in the papers of Henry G. Bennett, Benjamin H. Hardy, and Stanley Andrews.
