The Papers of Henry T. Myers consist of correspondence, personnel records, photographs, newspaper clippings and other printed materials, flight records and itineraries, handwritten notes, and memorabilia mostly relating to his activities as President Truman's pilot and his career in aviation from the 1930s to 1968. The collection documents the flights of Truman on the "Sacred Cow" and the
Independence
, the two Presidential airplanes he used. The collection also contains a number of photographs of Myers's journeys around the world, including the Presidential trip to Mexico City in 1947.
Most of the correspondence and personnel records in the collection date from 1942 to 1948, and concern Myers's service in the Air Transport Command, and especially his activities as a pilot for President Roosevelt, President Truman, and other prominent persons. The printed materials and memorabilia mostly pertain to Myers's career in aviation.
Related materials at the Truman Library include the Papers of Francis W. Williams, who succeeded Myers as President Truman's pilot in 1948.
