COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

This collection is primarily made up of the contents of three scrapbooks compiled by Frank and Natalie Wallace. Included in the collection are newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence, programs, invitations, and other items mostly relating to the activities of Harry, Bess, and Margaret Truman during the Truman Presidency.

The first volume mostly documents the activities of the Trumans during their first years in the White House. The second volume mostly pertains to Margaret Truman and her singing career. The third volume features information about Mrs. Truman’s bridge club, of which Natalie Wallace was a member.

The collection also contains some information about the activities of the Truman family before and after the Truman administration, and a few items pertaining to Frank and Natalie Wallace, including a newspaper article on their wedding in 1915 and information about their other relatives. Also included in the collection is a set of the Memoirs written and signed by Harry S. Truman.

Correspondence with Frank and Natalie Wallace can be found in the Harry S. Truman Papers: President’s Secretary’s Files (Family Correspondence File) and Post-Presidential Papers (Family Correspondence File).
