This collection includes copies of letters received by Judge Ernest M. Tipton from Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman. Some of the correspondence involving Mr. Truman was generated when he was a Senator and Vice President. Also included are documents concerning Judge Tipton's work in behalf of the Harry S. Truman Library, Inc.
The collection includes copies of original letters that were retained by the donor. Some letters and other documents relating to Tipton's work for the Harry S. Truman Library, Inc. were originally filed in the Miscellaneous Historical Documents Collection (MHDC 680).
