The Dillard B. Lasseter Papers consist of materials that pertain especially to his service as Administrator of the Farm Security Administration and the Farmers Home Administration in the Department of Agriculture during the Presidency of Harry S. Truman. The papers are arranged alphabetically in a single series.
The collection includes newspaper clippings that focus mainly on Lasseter's career with the Farmers Home Administration. The correspondence in the collection mostly consists of letters to Lasseter relating to his government service. Included are copies of thank-you letters from farmers who received loans from the government.
Also included in the papers are certificates received by Lasseter, photographs, printed materials, and speeches. These materials also document Lasseter's involvement in government programs that provided assistance to farmers.
Related collections at the Truman Library include the papers of Clinton P. Anderson and Charles F. Brannan, each of whom served as Secretary of Agriculture during Lasseter's career in the Department of Agriculture.
